A Song To Live By

August 31, 2023, 11:27 AM

I heard this song written by Gloria Gaither and music composed by Bill and Gloria Gaither. You can find this on You Tube Music, as presented by Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Gaither Vocal Band ends all their concerts with this song. Please listen on YouTube if you can. The first time I heard this song, I knew, it was a song that showed how to live a life that would be pleasing to God and guide how to be

more loving to those around me. How do we love those around us? Do we love with compassion? Do we risk loving each other as God loves us? Do we look at each other’s “point of view, or do we just say, it has to be my way, no other way, but mine?” Do we treat our relationship of friendships with commitment, respect, and love? I am so greatly pardoned; I’ll forgive my brother. Are we always ready to forgive? Forgiveness is hard sometimes, not for Jesus; He gave His Life for us. I gladly will obey the law of love, His Love; there are no words to describe His Love, all we need to do is think of the Cross.

Our world is in a mess, but this song says “Your Kingdom come around and through and in me. Your Power and Glory let them shine through me. Here are the words to this beautiful song. I hope you find it on YouTube and it touches you like it did me.

I Then Shall Live

I then shall live as one who’s been forgiven.

I’ll walk with joy to know my debts are paid.

I know my name is clear before my Father,

I am His child and I am not afraid.

So, greatly pardoned, I’ll forgive my brother,

The law of love I gladly will obey.

I then shall live as one who’s learned compassion.

I’ve been so loved, that I’ll risk loving too.

I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges.

I’ll dare to see another’s point of view.

And when relationships demand commitment,

Then I’ll be there to care and follow through.

Your Kingdom come around and through and in me.

Your Power and Glory, let them shine through me.

Your Hallowed Name, O may I bear with honor,

And may Your living Kingdom come in me.

The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor,

And may You feed a hungry world through ME.

Amen Amen Amen

I’m not there yet, but I pray every day, God will help me to have compassion, forgiveness, love, commitment; that is what it takes to live a Christian life for Him that my life will show His Kingdom in me, that the things I do will bring glory to His Name. May I always forgive, no matter what.

May I keep my eyes on Jesus, when I do that every day, I know I will remain His child; when satan comes up against me, I will keep my eyes on my Lord, and that too will pass, because I am His child. His child, that’s all that matters in this life and the next, that we remain His child. And may You, Lord feed a hungry world through me. Maybe not so much as food hungry, but people who are hungry to hear about the God you and I serve.
