A Doctor's Appointment

                                        A        Doctor’s       Appointment

I had a doctor’s appointment with my cardiologist this week.  It was 6 months late, I had canceled it 2 times and each time I canceled it, it put the appointment back  3 or 4 months.  So,  I thought he was really going to be upset with me.  It’s just a yearly appointment, but he is strict about appointments.  The last time I saw him was January 2022, just a few months after my husband and sister's deaths.

So,  my doctor came into the room, smiled at me, shook my hand, stood back, looked at me, and said, “ I can already tell your heart is better than the last time you were in here.”  I said, “Wow, you are a really great doctor to be able to tell the condition of a heart just by looking at a person.”  He said, “The last time you were in here you were suffering from a broken heart,  I am a cardiologist, I can give medication, I can do surgery to repair hearts, but I can’t do a lot for broken hearts.”  He said, “You are still working aren’t you?”  “Still going to church?”  I said. “Yes.”  He said,” That’s what a good Pastor, good Christian brothers and sisters in a church family, and your worship of God do for you, they help heal a broken heart.”  He also said he sees many people who have broken hearts and how they react to a broken heart depends on who they turn to to heal a broken heart.  He said some people who do not have a good support system never heal from these kinds of heart problems.

I left his office with a new appreciation for my cardiologist and for his insights on healing in both the spiritual and physical parts of heart problems.  I love the song,

“Open The Eyes of My Heart God” because God opened my eyes to His wonderful Love again in ways we may never think of.  I can only lift my praise up to God for His Unfailing Love.

So,  I thank God so much for healing, and thank you,  my Pastor, and my church family.  Without realizing it, we are taking care of each other and loving each other with the “Love of Jesus,” the most “Special Kind.”  And that love goes on and on as someone else “walks through the valley”, we love on them, and help them to heal in the” Name of Jesus.”

Oh yes, my doctor said the physical part of my heart was doing great and he would see me next year.  And to lose some more weight !!!!!

                                                                        Love you,
